Andrew D. Lowery has received degrees of Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering (2012), Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering (2006) and dual Bachelors of Science degrees in Computer and Electrical Engineering (2004) from the College of Engineering and Mineral Resources at West Virginia University (WVU). Currently, he is the lead scientist at Plasma Igniter, LLC and a Visiting Scholar and Adjunct Professor in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at WVU where his research focuses primarily in the areas of control systems, systems engineering, and electronic system design. He has managed teams working on projects associated with renewable energy, wind turbines and facilities, and electronic design.
During his educational career he has participated in research in the areas of design and controls, energy, and engineering education, resulting in peer reviewed publications, including eleven conference proceedings and seven journal or bound papers. Dr. Lowery is a member of the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), and Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society.
